how reliable are hotel software reviews from verified users

trying to make software decisions based on reviews but wondering how much to trust them. obviously fake reviews exist but even real reviews can be misleading if the reviewer's situation doesn't match yours.

in the middle of evaluating pms options and channel managers. some products have hundreds of positive reviews, others have mixed feedback where it's unclear if the product improved or if negative reviews are from years ago and no longer relevant.

also noticing that really large properties and really small properties rate things differently. what works great for a 300 room marriott might be overkill for a 50 room independent. but both show up in overall ratings.

trying to figure out how to use reviews effectively without getting misled. what makes a review actually useful for decision making versus just noise?

anyone have a framework for evaluating software reviews that helps cut through the noise and focus on what's actually relevant to your situation?
