That sudden drop in blood flow to the stomach is what creates that weird, fluttering "butterfly" sensation.

The brain and gut are directly connected via the **vagus nerve**. It’s a constant feedback loop:

* **Mind → Gut:** Anxiety can trigger physical GI symptoms.
* **Gut → Mind:** An unbalanced gut microbiome can actually send distress signals back up, affecting your mood, focus, and how you handle stress.
