My question regarding the unpardonable sin

Can you commit the unforgivable sin while living or just when you reject God when until you die. I mean humans have the capability to change unlike angels, we are imperfect and Angels have the full knowledge on what they're doing and won't change if they sin. I believe that those who hardened their hearts so much still have the chance to repent, even if they are fully aware of their actions.
