Does Removing AdSense Ads Improve Video Visibility?

Question / Problem

Hello,

I’m wondering whether disabling AdSense ads on my YouTube videos could help them get more visibility through the algorithm.

I know that ads often push viewers to leave the video. Many people simply close the window or click away, which lowers my average view duration compared to what it would be without ads.

On the other hand, I also know that YouTube’s goal is to make money, and disabling monetization isn’t really in their interest. Because of that, I’m wondering whether YouTube might somehow reduce a video’s reach if ads are not enabled.

My channel experienced a big surge in views and subscribers about two months after it was created, which allowed me to get monetized. Since then, I’ve always enabled automatic ads on my videos and let YouTube handle ad placement. However, since monetization started, I haven’t seen any growth. After that initial spike, both views and subscribers have steadily declined, even though the overall quality of my content has remained roughly the same.

This makes me wonder whether ads could be part of the problem, and whether removing ads from my future videos could help me reach more people, with the algorithm promoting my content more effectively.
