**Background**

Footballdotfun is a competitive fantasy football game that merges speculation, skill, and sport into a seamless experience where players can rip packs, own and freely trade football player tokens, build fantasy teams, and participate in matches.

The platform lets users buy, sell, and compete with fractional shares of real athletes from Europe’s top 5 Leagues. Each player has their own liquidity pool, and every match week reshuffles the market. The system automatically calculates points based on real football matches and rewards holders of outstanding players.

Fans become traders, scouts, and analysts all at once. Spot a rising star early, flip when momentum peaks, or hold your favourite legend long-term. Every move plays out visibly onchain.

This is where prediction markets meet fantasy sports 2.0, a live, liquid onchain economy where every decision carries weight. Each athlete is a tradable token. Every match is a liquidity event. And every sharp pick feels like alpha.

Within weeks, footballdotfun became the #1 consumer app on Base, and it has driven $100M+ in volume and over $10M in revenue to date. Now it’s evolving into sportdotfun, expanding beyond football into the NFL, NBA, and more. $FUN was launched mid January, and is now live and tradable across Base and CEXs

**Mission**

Before footballdotfun no protocol had managed to successfully merge 3 popular spheres: fantasy sports, crypto speculation, and sports betting.

This is the first protocol that unites:

→ Skill-based competition (fantasy)

→ Real-time speculation (betting/trading)

→ True ownership (crypto)

Footballdotfun integrates all three into a single, self-reinforcing economy, a fantasy sports layer for the onchain world.

By maximising player rewards in a sticky, skill-based game, footballdotfun has unlocked adoption and retention that legacy platforms can't touch. Better player economics drives better platform economics. They take market share by making the game fundamentally more rewarding to play.

**Team**

Footballdotfun was founded by Adam McIntee in 2024, and launched in August. Adam is from the UK, and after working in the UK Government and Foreign Office, pivoted into working in fantasy sports, sports analytics and web3 gaming. He built Sorare Academy, worked as Head of Product for Formation Games, but always wanted to be a founder and manifest his love of football and expertise in product and fantasy gaming, into something with legs. Thus footballdotfun was born.
