No way the front office has total confidence in this roster right?

Discussion

We're 4-6 in our last 10 and is 14th for OPPG, and 11th for blocks per game. Last year, we were just as inconsistent but gave up the least PPG (105.50) and had the highest blocks per game on average. Now, after the Bane trade, we've declined defensively by a large margin. This isn't to mention how we're letting other teams have more efficient 2-point and 3-point shooting against us than last year, so clearly after the Bane trade our defense has gotten worse.

We acquired Bane using damn near all of our picks, and our offense has only slightly improved since then (28th in PPG to 20th, 27th in FG% to 21st, 30th in 3FG% to 29th) whilst our turnover rate and our defense declined hard. Obviously, apart from Suggs and Goga, we need a strictly defensive player.

We can always make moves like acquiring Diabaté (defensive rating of 117.4 for the Hornets when he's on the court) for Wendell (defensive rating of 113.4 when he's on the court for the Magic; add Connaughton for Jett in this aswell, just softens this hypothetical deal and would actually add a veteran voice and a backup SG who can consistently get you a good 5 pts, maybe 9 pts a night during garbage time), or just dump Tyus/Jett/JI for 2nd rounders or a player or two, but instead we've made...zero moves.

There's rumors, but they're the most bland rumors ("they'll dump Tyus Jones) that should be happening damn near immediately. But instead, we've done nothing, and as a result, this team is suffering.

Calling everyone back to 1996, the Magic front office gave a shitty, lowball contract offer to Shaquille O'Neal (and the fans basically was against him aswell) which caused him to leave for the Los Angeles Lakers, and that same year they got Kobe Bryant from a draft night trade with the Charlotte Hornets. That year, they made the conference semifinals only losing to the Jazz in 5 games. The following year, they made it to the Western Conference Finals, again losing to the Jazz in 4 games. After a conference semifinals loss to the Spurs in 1999, they eventually went all the way and won a championship in 2000. What Shaquille O'Neal couldn't do with us in 4 years he did with the Lakers in 4 years, all because we were too frugal. We continued to not be able to develop and establish star teams with fumbling on Tim Duncan, fumbling on not acquiring players to fully complement Dwight Howard's star prowess, and now we're fumbling with another #1 pick in Paolo Banchero, and two great complementary players in Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs.

Just no luck for us, huh?
