Do you have to be close to your family members?

I personally feel bad whenever my older brother doesnt care much when I tell him stories. He doesnt react the way I want him to react. And sometimes, he ignores me completely. Since I was born, he was living in another country so we never fought. There is no reason for him to treat me this way.

But I also treat someone in my family that way. They tell me stories and I just give one word replies and dont act interested. Because honestly, everything they talk about is boring. And I dont know why but their voice, the way they speak and everything about them bothers me. So I dont like being close to this person.

Is this fine or wrong?
