Helen Doron Academy

I’m the only teacher at the center in my country. I work from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and I teach 23 hours per week. I’m extremely exhausted and I keep getting sick both mentally and physically. The system/methodology itself is good, but at Helen Doron the only people who are happy are the parents and the students. As a teacher, you are supposed to be the most important person there, yet you are never treated as such — you are treated like a servant.

I have been working here for five months. I only signed the Helen Doron confidentiality agreement. As far as I know and remember, it’s basically about not sharing the methodology or lesson content with outsiders. I told my boss today that I want to quit the job and she told me that because I signed this agreement, I’m not allowed to leave and If I do I have to pay the training fee. The training is mandatory for everyone who wants to work here. They asked me if I wanted to work here, and when I said yes, they applied for the training. They paid, but they never told me how much it cost or that I would have to pay it back later. I didn’t sign any other agreement. I’m literally being threatened. Two of my friends from other countries have gone through the same shit.
