I have a question about dating.

I’m MtF and I’ve been transitioning for just over 6mos now. I met a guy I think is cute. I have never dated a guy before. I have no idea what I’m doing. I have a friend who is also MtF who keeps telling me that I should be approaching this from the other side and let him come to me. I’ve been trying to drop little hints here and there, but I’m not sure if it’s coming through? She says it’s “not on me to drive?” I have no idea what I’m doing lol any advice?
