Is freight forwarding a job that requires an education in your country?
If I understand it right, it's very different in different countries.
In Sweden, you used to not require an education for it but demands changed around 2010 and today companies will not hire you unless you've studied for it at either trade school or university.
I study for it right now, and I will be finished in June 2027. It's a 2 year long education, where the topics we study are these:
Digital Tools for Freight Forwarding, 10 credits
Degree Project, 20 credits
Global Cargo Flows, 15 credits
Quality Management Systems, 10 credits
Work-Based Learning (Internship) 1, 50 credits
Work-Based Learning (Internship) 2, 80 credits
Logistics, 35 credits
Environmental and Transport Law, 25 credits
Environmental Calculations and Green Transport Costing, 25 credits
Environmental Logistics for the Green Transition, 30 credits
Presentation Skills and Business Communication, 10 credits
Freight Forwarding, 40 credits
Transportation Terminology and English, 10 credits
Transport Economics, 20 credits
Customs Management and International Transport Systems, 20 credits
One credit is one lesson, so transports economics is 20 lessons long.
What's it like in your country?
