Thoughts on QA/QC internship?
Basically, I'm a Structural Engineering major undergrad, but I'm having a hard time finding structural design firms or consultancies that specialize in this field. It's required that the scope of our internship is related to our major.
The only offer I have right now is from an engineering consultancy (that also does construction), where I would be assigned to QA/QC for the implementation of Civil/Structural works. Currently, they are starting to build a 4-storey building with a steel framework.
Can I defend that this is related enough to my major? Most of my classmates are in structural analysis and design companies, so they are office-based, whereas I would be on the actual site.
