Hi!

I really liked majohn A1 and A2 but the seal on those pens was not for me. I often leave pens without use for quite some time. I gravitate to pens like preppy, TWSBI AL, Opus 88. Fortunately, Capless seals well.

I have just cleaned, flushed the pen and tried it with black carbon. First day it writes well, next day it does not. What could be the issue? I see that some people use this ink/pen combo. I have refilled the original cartridge.

I must say that pilot makes one of the worst nibs in my experience. QC is terrible. I have tried Prera and Capless. Prera was extremely scratchy. This capless is squeaky. I tried some nib polishing that helped to some degree.

I have used high grit whetstone, ceramic rod and stropping leather. Unfortunately, steel on the nib is a tad to hard to be using whetstones, but it works to some degree. I cant micromesh with high grid locally and will try something from aliexpress later. Its a pity because competition has some nice nibs. I particularly like Sailor, but they are either too small or too expensive.

What can be the culprit for getting so dry so quickly? After I soaked the nib it had a rough dry start but it writes again. It requires much more fore than before though.
