Software recommendations: Kiosk Check-in and Event Registration

I help run a community group which needs a digital check-in process for its weekly meetings (ideally on an iPad at the door or via an app), plus an ability for members to register for upcoming events (eg a BBQ fundraiser).

Group size is about 50 total. We don't have much funds, so the cheaper the better.
