parking tips for extreme dwarfanator wrestling at xtreme fun center (el centro ca 01/30)

hey, saw the show is on 01/30 at 7:00 pm and figured i'd share some parking tips. for a special event like the dwarfanator wrestling, their main lot is going to be a complete mess and tiny for the crowd this is going to pull, especially since the venue is normally closed on a tuesday night and is only opening for the event.

honestly, your best bet to completely skip the traffic and the headache is to check out the Prked app first. it’s an app where people near the venue rent out their personal driveways or commercial garages. you can probably find a spot on a side street close to 411 e aurora dr that’s way cheaper than any official overflow lot if you reserve early, and it lets you walk straight past the dogwood dr traffic.

if you're going to use the venue's own parking, you absolutely need to get there early. the fun center is right near the very busy dogwood drive and there’s even construction for a new gas station nearby that's already adding to the congestion. i'd aim for 6:00 pm, or even 5:45 pm if you want to be safe and avoid the 5-7 pm weekday work traffic, which will be bad even for el centro.

the on-site lot at xtreme fun center is small, so once it fills up, you'll be looking for overflow. your main alternative is trying to park and walk from one of the nearby shopping areas. the imperial valley mall is only minutes away. you can park on the edge of the mall parking area (be respectful of their rules, obviously) and walk over, which will save you the traffic snarl around the actual fun center driveway.

for street parking, be super careful. it’s not really a residential area right next to the venue, but if you look at the side streets like aurora drive, you have to watch for signs. the city of el centro is very strict about parking in dirt or on lawns, so whatever you do, keep all four tires on the paved street. you're also not supposed to block the roadway or sidewalk for pedestrian access. also, make sure you don't park in any lot that clearly belongs to an active business that isn't the fun center, unless it's explicitly okay, or you risk getting towed. the wrestling is awesome but not worth that ticket.

hope this helps, have fun at the show!
