parking tips for spokane chiefs vs. everett silvertips at numerica veterans memorial arena (spokane wa 01/30)

hey chiefs fans, figured i'd share some parking advice for the everett silvertips game on friday, 01/30, at 7:05 pm. honestly, getting in and especially getting out of the numerica veterans memorial arena lots is a massive headache, with traffic backing up onto the main streets for a good 30-45 minutes after the game. the congestion is especially bad trying to get onto the monroe street bridge afterward, so you'll want to avoid that route if you can.

the easiest way to completely bypass the exit traffic and the line getting in is to use an app like Prked. this is the app for finding and renting private driveways or garages right next to the arena. it's way cheaper than the main lots most times, you can pre-book a reserved spot, and it's just a short walk from a side street, letting you skip the insane traffic lines entirely. you can also check other apps like spothero or parkwhiz to reserve spots in private lots near the convention center or the podium area.

if you're going for the official route, the arena lots are limited and first-come, first-served. game night parking is typically $10, and you must pay with a credit card, apple pay, or google pay - it's a completely cashless venue now, including parking. the most important tip is to get there early-early. aim to be at the arena lot entrance by 5:30 pm at the latest if you want a decent official spot and want to beat the rush hour traffic coming off i-90 and the commuters who use the lots for park and ride until around 6:00 pm. remember, once you are in, there are absolutely no in-out privileges during the event.

a better option is to park downtown. since the game is on a friday, street parking is free after 7:00 p.m.. since puck drop is 7:05 pm, you might only need to pay the meter for an hour if you arrive around 6:00 pm for a quick dinner, which is still cheaper than the arena lot. just make sure you still follow the posted 2-hour or 4-hour time limits before 7:00 p.m.. you can also look for residential street parking about a half-mile north of the arena, on streets like sharp or sinto. this is usually free and saves you the exit mess, but be ready for a walk.

downtown garages like river park square or the library garage are also available for covered parking, though they will be a longer walk. and don't forget the spokane transit (sta) route 11 stops right across the street, which is a perfect way to shuttle over from downtown if you park further away.

hope this helps and go chiefs!
