Advice for first-time experience
Good morning. At the end of February, I'm picking up a dachshund puppy (he'll be 79 days old) from the breeder. I work 6 hours a day. I'm already researching extensively about the breed and its needs. I'm thinking of picking up the puppy on the weekend because I don't work, then taking a few days off to spend time with him, let him adjust, and then get him used to being alone. I'm also thinking of breaking up the work hours into 3 hours, plus a one-hour break where I can check on him, and another three hours of work. I'd take him out a couple of times before work, once during my break, and two or three times when I get home from work. What do you think? Please avoid the "if you can't take care of a dog, you don't take one" attitude. Everyone works, even to take care of a dog. Thank you.
