Just broke up via text

I need reassurance. I (37nb) had my first ever seizure at my ex-boyfriend's (25m) place a week ago. He did take me to the hospital where they concluded I had a concussion from the seizure fall. He took me back to his place, tucked me into bed, and announced he was off to a party. The doctor who discharged me said I shouldn't be alone for the next 24 hours, so I begged him to stay. He eventually agreed, but it was almost an hour of cajoling him.

I went to his apartment the day after to break up but ended up having sex four times instead. So I broke via text instead because I couldn't trust myself in person. But that seems rude. Please tell me what I did was okay (or at least not horrible).

Tldr: broke up via text after my ex ignored me during a medical crisis. Want reassurance that I did the right thing.
