The age old request of this subreddit: Help me hook my oscilloscope up to my Turntable? Please!

Hi all,

I've recently acquired an Iwatsu DS-6121 Digital Storagescope (link leads to an Ebay post of the oscilloscope in question for photos better than anything I could take) and am looking to connect it up to my turntable as a 'visualiser' of sorts.

I think I understand, like, 70% of what I have to do based off of the numerous other posts about this topic here on r/oscilloscopemusic, but I am still missing some key bits of information.

The main part I'm failing to understand is the RCA-Y situation. My turntable is a Hitachi HT-354 and my Receiver a Sansui R-5, so both from the late 70s/early 80s. Not exactly new, fancy technology. My turntable has the standard red and white RCA cable and grounding cable but no ports for anything else, so what I am confused about is how I go about attaching the splitters! Do I put one splitter on red and one on white? Or is there a much easier way to do it that I'm missing? Or am I just stuffed and in need of different hardware. Please please help a poor, unfortunately ignorant guy out!

Cheers,
