Looking for post-MBA career perspective?
I’m in the process of applying to MBAs and trying to think more carefully about long-term career direction, especially given my current role and background. Would really value perspective from people who’ve navigated similar questions.
Some context:
- Based in India
- GRE 328
- ~8.5 years of experience
- Currently in a senior brand and marketing role in real estate
- Previously worked in marketing and revenue-facing roles at Disney
- Education: engineering + MBA (India)
My career so far has been largely on a brand/marketing leadership track, and I’ve enjoyed the work. At the same time, I’ve started wondering whether staying purely on a CMO-style path long term might narrow my exposure too early, especially if I want to develop a broader understanding of how businesses are run end to end.
Please help me understand How people in brand-heavy roles have successfully broadened into general management or enterprise leadership roles? And if there are any designations I should look for.
