A rookie question for Cathay Pacific players!

Hello everyone! We recently started playing The Old World, and we have a question about the Shugengan Lord. The question is this: he comes equipped with Iron Talons, which grants him the "Always Attack First" rule. If I equip him with the magic weapon, Wisdom of the Monkey King, which also grants him the "Always Attack Last" rule, would the two rules overlap, and would he attack on initiative? Is Iron Talons considered a weapon? Or do I have to choose which of the two weapons to attack with? Thanks in advance!
