Tips for new players (No spoilers) [KCD2]

Preface

Hello, people who are looking to buy the game, people who have the game and need a refreshment, or people who are reading for fun. Im a player who has beaten the game for eight different times. And I can confidently say, the game, at its core, is much different than any other RPGs you migth have played. Whether by difficulty, story, or doctrinal thesis. And the game especially stands out for not holding your hand as much as the other AAA RPGs. So I wrote this guide, to help out new players. I hope you enjoy it.

Starting Off

At the start of Kingdom Come Deliverance Two, you will probably feel very lost at the start and unsure where to go and what to do. If you choose to beeline main quests, you will most certainly hit a wall. So what to do, you may ask. Here is what you should do:

Grind, Grind, Grind

Unlike the RPGs where side quests are fully lorebased, and unlike the RPGs where combat is level based (e.g. Assasin`s Creed series), Kingdom Come Deliverance Two does this through worldbuilding. Dificulty of enemies will be based on their experience, for example, a grizzled soldier will be much harder to defeat than a peasant or a bandit. The difficulty of skillchecks depend on mostly how much they achive, how important they are. And both combat, skill checks and other aspects of the game, depend on your skill levels. How do you advance your skill level? By grinding. By doing sidequests, and actively doing things that help you grind them. I can assure you, the line between this game feeling like hell and being mostly easy is not thin at all.

On Economy

This game`s economy is not easy, not at all. Legit ways to earn money are very few, require time and are mostly unlocked in late game. So the best, and sometimes only, way to get money and good gear, is through stealing. You heard me, stealing. The game doesnt give you anything. Youll need to go out there and robbery bob to make a decent living.

On Combat

Starting the game, most players will be appaled by how different and hard the combat is. And theyre right to feel like that. With the starting skills, combat will be very hard, and even a peasant will get you seen to your grave. What you need to do is: Learn the Masterstrike. Or, the Meisterhau. Its a very legit cheatcode for the game`s combat. After learning this, combat will be much much easier. And without learning it, you WILL suffer.

Apart from the masterstrike, the winner of a duel is decided by who has the most stamina, and its skill equivelant: Vitality. When you dont have stamina, attacks will ignore your armor, the damage you get will be multiplied, you wont be able to defend or dodge. And if your stamina runs out while fighting harder enemies, you are done for. The best way to gain vitality XP is to walk around overencumbered.
