Below is the trip review of an 830km round trip from Bangalore to Madurai in 30 hours (Day 1 morning [night stay in Madurai] and Day 2 afternoon return). [ 8 hours each side]

As this was my first long trip, I was prepared to face a lot of discomfort on the bike, as it's not a cruiser or tourer. But thankfully, on Day 1, I was at about only 30% of my discomfort tolerance. So, I'd say it was not that bad. [I am 31 y/o and work out regularly, generally fit, so maybe that factors into it].

On Day 2, while returning, the last 100km (or so) were uncomfortable. I'd say I reached 75% of my discomfort tolerance limit.
I'd say take 10-minute breaks every 100 km for maximum comfort.

Now for techincal details:

On the highway, I found the optimum bike speed (considering fuel economy, engine stress, and trip time duration) was between 80 to 90 km/h (IFE ~ 35 km/L). I tried other speeds as well:
*   ~60-70 km/h (IFE ~ 50 km/L)
*   ~70-80 km/h (IFE ~ 40 km/L)
*   ~100 km/h (IFE ~ 30 km/L)
*   ~120 km/h (IFE ~ 24km/L)
(these are all on flat roads at 5th gear, incline or decline affects these numbers).

80 to 90 km/h is optimum as it's still around 1k RPM below the max torque zone, which is at 100 km/h (6.5k RPM), so you have plenty of room for overtakeing maneuvers at these speeds.

Engine heating was not an issue (the oil cooler works), and I literally did not face a single problem with the bike, even when I drove at higher speeds (the maximum speed I achieved was 140 km/h).

Overall fuel economy was ~40 km/L, based on both the bike's average fuel economy readings and tank-to-tank readings (distance ~ 830 km). I put ₹1000 worth of fuel for one side and ₹1000 for the return side, and both times I got a low fuel warning, which comes on at 4.5 L in the N250.[attaching photos we well]

On a personal note, being my first long(ish) trip, I really enjoyed it. It gave me time to be with my own thoughts and be out of my comfort zone, away from work and the city rush. The views along the way were also very scenic, and the highway roads were, for the most part, very good. [I wish I could have stayed another day or stopped more often to just take in the scenery, but I had to keep to the deadlines.]

Overall, I think the N250 can be a good highway bike with very low maintenance. To me, it has proven itself both in the city [you can check previous reviews on my profile] and on the highway for my usage, and anyone who wants to purchase it can go ahead. It won't disappoint. AMA
