Slugging a bully squad
I just encountered a bully squad in my most recent match, at least I felt that they were a bully squad. The first 10 minutes were miserable from my perspective. Each time I'd down one of them, the rest of them were sabotaging hooks and getting in the way when I was trying to hook one of them. Not one of them was repairing gens in this time; they were all just swarming me and trying to get me to chase them and down them. I managed to hook one of them at some point, but I wasn't having much luck because they kept routinely sabotaging the nearest hooks and I couldn't get to the next nearest ones in time. So then I had to do something I wasn't proud of and started slugging, so then at least enough of them were downed that I stood a chance of being able to hook them before they healed each other, sabotaged the hooks or got in my way. I tunnelled one of them until I could mori them so that at least it was 3v1 instead of 4. To be honest, they were so obnoxious that I didn't feel too bad about doing it to them. I stopped slugging them once I'd gotten two of them to the second hook state because I could just mori them.
In the end, I was able to kill all four of them. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't deeply satisfying. Still, I feel bad for the slugging and the tunnelling because it can be pretty toxic. But, I don't know. I try my best to be a pleasant enough killer and make the game not miserable for survivors while still trying to win (I have 460 hours so I'm decent enough). I avoid tactics like slugging and tunnelling because I know how frustrating it is to be a survivor and be tunnelled or slugged. But there's only so much I can do if survivors are doing that kind of thing. It was strong tactics, sure, but came off like they were purposely trying to annoy me.
I'm wondering if there's any other way to counter bully squads that doesn't involve stooping to their level of toxicity, or if it's not considered toxic for killers to slug/tunnel/etc. survivors when survivors are playing like this. Like maybe it is just a skill issue on my part but idk.
