AITAH for going on a solo trip?

I (21F) love traveling and solo trips, and my boyfriend has always known this (we’ve been together for nearly 2 years now). However when I went to book a 2 day solo trip to a European country, he seriously kicked off and claimed that if I went, he would leave me.

I asked him why he felt this way, and he said that if anything happened to me, he would ‘never forgive himself’. He then said I was selfish for not considering his feelings, and he said I only care about myself and what I want.

As he knew from the start I liked to travel, he thought that ‘it would eventually die down’ and I would ‘change’ (which I haven’t).

I did all my research beforehand of where to stay, where to avoid etc in order to keep myself safe. I understand where he’s coming from but now I just feel trapped. I would never even dream of cheating (and he knows this) so that is not the issue here.

In response to all of this I ended up cancelling the trip.

Please be honest, am I the AH here? I’m genuinely stuck on how to feel about this.
