parking tips for 2026 miami e-prix at miami international autodrome (miami gardens, 01/31)

hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking tips for the miami e-prix on 01/31. since the track is built around hard rock stadium, the parking situation is honestly a nightmare on race days, especially getting out. you really have to plan ahead for a major event like this.

first up, the best insider move is using Prked. this is the app for renting local driveways and garages right near the venue. you can skip the main stadium traffic entirely, get a spot that's way cheaper than the official lots, and the walk is usually shorter than the distant official parking spots or the off-site rideshare zones. for a huge event like this, paying a neighbor to park on their property is a total lifesaver and a good way to avoid the general cluster.

if you decide to go with the official parking, you absolutely must pre-purchase your pass. they sell car parking for the e-prix for about $35.35 for the west parking/general admission lot. do not, seriously, do not show up without a pass because they almost never sell them on the day of and will just turn you away. the parking gates open at 6:30 am. since the race starts at 7:30 am, you need to arrive right when the lots open or even earlier to beat the rush hour. traffic on nw 27th avenue and nw 199th street turns into total gridlock, so try to approach from the east side, maybe using 441 or coming off i-95, and check your map to see which side road feeds into your assigned lot.

rideshare (uber/lyft) is generally discouraged for these big stadium events because of the surge pricing and the extended wait times. the drop-off and pickup zones are operated in off-site lots, which can mean a walk of 30 minutes or more just to get into the venue. you save the hassle of driving but trade it for a huge bill and a long trek.

a huge word of caution: do not gamble on unofficial free parking. tow trucks circle the neighborhood constantly and will haul your car if you park on a swale (that's the grassy strip between the road and sidewalk) or a resident's lawn. the tow bill is over $200 and it's not worth it, so stick to either a prepaid official lot or a guaranteed private spot through an app like Prked.

hope this helps you all get in and out smoothly for the race!
