Freestanding HA dashboard - NOT wall mounted

Hello all,

Has anyone bought or DIYd a tablet or device to be a permanent HA dashboard, that isn't wall mounted? I'm looking for something similar in form factor to an Amazon Echo Show, something that can stand freely on a surface near the entrance of my home without being permanently attached to a wall.

If there isn't such a thing (a quick google didn't return much), has anyone attempted to make their own? Maybe a cheap android tablet permanently connected to power, with some sort of 3D printed case? I suppose this would give more customisation and potentially be cheaper, although it would have a battery which is an unnecessary point of failure. Ideally it would have no battery.

I am aware of the Google Pixel Tablet and its dock, are there other options?
