whatsapp "date is inaccurate" error on blackberry q10

i downloaded whatsapp for my blackberry q10 device, but i cant get past the "date is inaccurate" error even though the date and time are correct. i've tried adjusting the date and time both automatically and manually, as well as restarting my phone and clearing the cache, but nothing seems to be working. the only other way to resolve it that i've found is by updating the app, but i wouldn't be able to since it wont work past android 4. is there any other way to fix this?
