Will prusa slicer 3.0 be open source?

Do we have any news or info about prusa slicer 3.0? Since from what we already know the UI will get a massive overhaul, and I was wandering if also the base logic of the slicer will be build from scratch or will continue to be based on Slic3r and, per license, open source.
