I am interested in joining the Navy but I have a Felony

The charge is from a dumb decision I made 7 years ago to take the charge for a friend who lost their home in a hurricane down south while I was staying with them and their family, we all headed up north to a state with strict gun laws to stay at my father's house to sort things out. The day we arrived police pulled over and searched the vehicle discovering a loaded firearm they had legally purchased down south, up here it didn't matter and someone had to take the fall, I idiotically decided to take the 5 years of probation along with a class C felony for Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree. I am wondering if a recruiter may be willing to work around this, and what the likelihood could be of me actually being able to join.
