What backs up the argument of Trump being pro-immigration?
I see this tossed around a lot in these periphery spaces, the idea that Trump is creating a system of cycling immigrants into the country and then deporting them, creating an unstable underclass to depress wages further. His backing off from targeting farms seems to be in support of this, but it seems border crossings are at an all-time low, and deportations are exceeding border encounters. ICE seems to be a vehicle for power consolidation through its disruptive fear tactics, but I'm uncertain about how the Trump admin is actually approaching immigration beyond the administration's surface-level claims. Is there info I'm missing? Everything with Trump seems to have an edge of grift, but is this one as simple as the private immigrant prisons? Fill me in.
