I lost someone I loved deeply. Not to a person I knew, but to circumstances I couldn’t control. A stranger left a hateful comment on a post my girlfriend had made about us. Things slowly went downhill after that. We eventually broke up on October 24.

Life looks fine now. I go to the gym, I’m in good shape, my studies are going well. I’ve been approached by a few girls, and I turned them all down. I’m not over my ex, and I don’t want to use anyone as a rebound. I’d rather sit with the emptiness than pass it on.

To the person who left that comment—if you’re reading this, congratulations. You won. You were right about me. We’re not together anymore, and yes, internally, I’m broken.

But I hope you were wrong about her. I hope she’s happy. I hope she’s moved on. She deserves that.

Before we separated, there was a conversation between us about what would happen if we ever went our own ways. I told her honestly: it’s okay. I wished her happiness, even if I wasn’t part of her life anymore—because her happiness mattered more to me than my place in her life.

I respect her decision and her boundaries. I will never reach out again.

What hurts the most is her eyes. They once held warmth when she looked at me. On the last day, they held regret and exhaustion. Her eyes were my favorite thing about her, and I still remember them clearly.

A few days ago, I froze in a shop after seeing a snack she loved. The shopkeeper called my name, but I couldn’t move. The same numbness hits whenever I hear a song I used to sing for her. I don’t cry—I just go quiet I haven't cried & it's been years.

I’m not here for sympathy.

If you’ve loved someone deeply and still had to let them go, how did you move forward without becoming bitter or empty?

Hatred Is Loud. Love Is Quiet.
