Jobs in parks

Looking for some advice on how to get back into parks. I worked for a park for 4-5 years in NY’s central region. It was the best job I’ve ever had. Ended up with a degree in Parks & Conservation Management because I knew that’s what I wanted to have for a career. I was only a PRA4, so seasonal. I moved upstate (Glens Falls) in 2021. It was hard to pay bills and student loans with a seasonal job so I looked for something more permanent.

Now I feel like I should have just stayed put and dealt with seasonal work for another few years and kept applying for a permanent role while I was still in the system. Since then I’ve been a mechanic and am now in a shipping & receiving position, but I’ve always known I want to be back in the parks.

I’ve applied to every parks job that comes up but have never once heard anything back. Is there a trick to applying I’m just not getting? Or is it just a matter of patience. I’m only 30, but I don’t want it to appear I’ve been out of parks too long on my resume. Unfortunately moving for me is out of the question, so I’m limited to the Lake George/Warrensburg/Saratoga area. Anything else I should be doing? Or just keep being patient.
