Parking tips for Hot Wheels Monster Trucks™ Live Glow-N-Fire at State Farm Arena (Atlanta 01/31)

hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking tips for the hot wheels monster trucks show on saturday 01/31 at 12:30 pm. downtown atlanta parking for a big event, even during the day, can be a mess and the decks will empty out slowly, so planning ahead is key.

first off, if you want the absolute easiest route that gets you right next to the arena and lets you skip the worst of the main traffic lines, check out Prked. i'm talking about the app that lets you rent a private driveway or unused garage spot right in the centennial park district. honestly, it's way cheaper than the official decks, you book it ahead of time, and you're usually pulling into a private street off the main grid. it’s your best bet for a short walk and a fast exit.

now for the official arena parking and other options:

pre-purchase is your best friend. the official decks can go for $50+ on event days if you try to pay last minute, but pre-paid passes for this event start around $20-$30 on sites like parkmobile, vivid seats, or spothero. remember, most official decks are cashless—credit or debit only.

the closest arena options are:
* state farm drive and the diamond deck: these are the ultra-vip spots, literally less than a minute walk to the arena entrance (gate #5). they are usually the most expensive, but you can't beat the convenience. diamond deck access is below street level, only from baker street.
* sapphire deck and ruby lot: sapphire deck is right across the street (under 5 minute walk). the ruby lot is very close too (under 3 minute walk) but you enter at 199 alabama street sw and go below street level. accessible ada parking is available first-come, first-served in all these official lots.

for budget options and an easier exit:
* the gwcc decks are a solid choice. the world congress center deck or the nearby green deck are often recommended because they're easier to get out of after a big crowd than the decks right in front of the arena, though you will have a slightly longer walk (maybe 5-10 minutes). look for centennial yards lot a which is about a 5 minute walk. lot c is also available and is tailgating-friendly, across from centennial park.
* check spothero for spots like the lot at 123 marietta st nw or the georgia state bar garage, which can sometimes be found for less than $15 and are only a 5 minute walk. you can also look for lots near luckie street.
* the college football hall of fame deck and the cnn deck are also frequently mentioned and are a short walk away.

traffic and timing tips:
* for a 12:30 pm show on a saturday, downtown traffic shouldn't be as bad as a weekday night, but it will still be heavy getting right up to the arena. aim to arrive a good 60-90 minutes early to avoid stress and secure a spot if you didn't pre-purchase.
* for directions, use google maps or waze, as apple maps is sometimes inaccurate for the specific lot entrances downtown.
* if you want to completely avoid driving and parking, take marta. the gwcc/dome/state farm arena station (sec district station) literally drops you off right at the front door of the arena. it’s cheap and the absolute fastest way in and out.

hope this helps everyone enjoy the glow-n-fire show!
