MacBook Air M4 13" 16GB 256GB VS Lenovo Yoga 14" 7i 155h 32GB 1TB
Hello everyone, I'm thinking of upgrading my old 2020 Dell laptop (i5) that I've used for 6 years tho in fact it didn't serve me very well (very bad battery life after only 2 years and screen and chassis issues). For the context, I'm a regular uni student that doesnt normally use high power apps (I don't code or game a lot), I usually do a lot of web browsing and I play Minecraft and I don't store my data on the pc, I have a hard drive or I use Google drive. What I'm really looking for in a new pc:
- long battery life not to have to always use it plugged or to carry the charger around
- to be slim and light
- to have enough ram (coming from a pc with 8 gigs that's not enough for me)
- to have a good durability over time (in terms of build quality, performance and battery life)
So I looked into a few options and I found the MacBook and the Lenovo Yoga as candidates. MacBook pros:
- slim, light, good battery life and good durability (as I read on reviews) and also good Build Quality MacBook cons:
- I'd get 256gb SSD (I'm not sure that will be enough)
- MacOS (never used it, limited gaming options)
--> note: I don't care about ecosystem
Lenovo Yoga pros:
- slim, a little heavier, windows (I'm used to it), compatibility with hard drives and accessories, good processor
- seems to have a good battery life and it has 1TB os ssd Lenovo Yoga cons:
- usually windows laptops get worse faster than macs, so I'm afraid the battery will die in a year.
- build quality seems cheap, I read that in some cases it breaks.
Is there someone that can help me choose? Thank you for reading all this.
