So I've never really filed taxes.
If I am required to pay roughly half my check to my parents a month does that allow them to claim me on my taxes? Spoilers for more details but that's just me giving .ore personal details.
!I've never really filed taxes I grew up in Navy Base in a close knit famoly so when I got my first job my mom obviously did my taxes for me. that was her main obligation in the family while my stepdad was deployed over seas and taxes in 2008 weren't as easy to do now anyways, Eventually I end up suffering a TBI and didn't have much of a work History. Eventually I applied for SSDI/SSI and got approved and since than I never once thought about taxes. If I manage to get an odd job. I just give my paper to my mom and that's that. Well the problem. is when COVID hit I find out she's been claiming me on her taxes every year that I didn't have paperwork to file. And so for the first 4 years I got my SSI I didn't have to pay to live at my parents house. The house is paid off and as long as I don't commit treason I'm welcomed to live under this roof. And then she started charging me half my check.!<
