I got tired of making the same invoices in Canva every month, so I built a tool to do it for me!

Hello fellow builders and lurkers,

I’ve been freelancing on the side for the past couple of years, and like a lot of us, I used Canva to make invoices. Nothing fancy — just a clean template I’d duplicate, change the date, change the invoice number, export to PDF, then email it out.

I wasn't even updating the line items since I was doing the same work/same hours every month.

But after doing this 84 times in one year (yes, I counted), I realized two things:

1. I was spending way too much time on something that should be automated
2. Most invoicing tools (like QuickBooks or Wave) felt bloated for what I actually needed

So I built Invoice Auto – a simple tool that lets me:

• Create an invoice in seconds
• Set it to recur monthly/weekly
• Auto-generate and send it without touching it again

No accounting features. No dashboards. Just lightweight, recurring invoicing.

It’s live now and I’m using it with a few of my own clients.
Would love any feedback, roasts, or suggestions. Still figuring out how to position it clearly.
