X1S Repeat rate with moving cursor on Nvidia Shield

I've had a X1S now for a couple weeks and it has worked well except for when controlling the cursor via the directional keys paired to my nvidia shield you have to press them slowly. If you press right/left too quickly the cursor will move more than the number of times you pressed, i.e. it will "jump" to the end or further than you expect. This is annoying, especially when you're trying to navigate quickly, like when typing in a search term via the directional keys.

I talked with AI about this...

The issue you're describing—where rapidly pressing a directional button (like left/right/up/down) on the Sofabaton X1S causes the cursor to jump all the way across the screen on your Nvidia Shield—is a common complaint with universal remotes like the Sofabaton series (including the older U1 model) when paired via Bluetooth.

This happens because the remote's repeat rate (how quickly it sends repeated commands when holding or quickly tapping a button) can be too aggressive for the Shield's input handling. The Shield interprets those rapid signals as multiple presses, causing the cursor to overshoot or fly to the edge.

Who knows if that's right, it went on to how to adjust the repeat rate, which doesn't exist in the app as far as I can tell.

So I contacted support, and after a back and forth in which they told me to repair it and check if the buttons were mapped right I got this response:

Dear customer,

Thank you for your message.

For the second point, it may happen. Please try to slow down.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.

Best regards,
Alice

Haha! Anyone have a better solution for this, other than just slowing down?
