"Tacticool," LARPers, ghillie suits
The word _tacticool_ has several different meanings, but the one I'm using here refers to people who like to dress up in cool tactical gear, like airsoft enthusiasts who dress up and gear up to look like military commandos or special forces teams, and go out and shoot each other on the weekends.
If you want to see this in action, just look up "kickingmustang best ghillie suit moments."
_LARPers_ are people who enjoy dressing up like this and acting out by role-playing. LARP stands for Live Action Role-Playing.
It's like cosplay, but with an added element of live-action combat.
_Tacticool_: There is a specific aspect of the word _tacticool_ that is interesting. Like some other words, it sums up a whole subculture. It's a word that pulls together and summarizes, and at the same time pulls back the curtain on what's going on in a whole set of activities and niche subcultures.
In addition to LARPing, there are other groups and activities in which participants enjoy dressing up to look like and feel like badass tactical players. They are into the look and feel of being "tacticool" special forces.
Everybody wants to be a badass in one way or another. This is their way.
