Frozen Embryo Transfer through NHS
Hi all,
Is there anyone here whose done a frozen embryo transfer (medicated or natural modified) through NHS (I am with Barts) who could advise what the process involves and where it starts. I'm trying to figure out a timetable going by the cycle days for period of when I'd need to visit the hospital for scans etc. This is so I can give my employer suggested days I may be unavailable so I'm not assigned to urgent projects. This is the busiest time for my work so they really can't offer flexibility and my line manager asked me to ensure I provide dates this week (we have no IVF leave policy).
I've tried googling which says I'd start medication on the second/third day of my period however this is generic obviously so need to take with a pinch of salt.
I contacted the hospital, and they wrote back with I'd start on cycle day 21 and sent me the antagonist protocol timetable but answers are short and snappy and I don't think they've looked in my file that I am having a frozen embryo transfer (even though I stated this in my email) and not an egg retrieval? I've already done the egg retrieval so doing a FET way past ovulation doesn't sound right based on what I have read. It is not possible to contact the fertilitu team by phone (they ask you to email) and they aren't responsive on email either.
I know NHS protocols for IVF (be it FET, short protocol etc) are more or the less the same hence looking for anyone who could help give indicatives so I can plan my leave around it and let my employer know.
Appreciate any help.
