hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking survival tips for the show on monday, jan 28. parking in the east village near berlin (25 avenue a) is honestly a nightmare. it's the east village on a monday night- the traffic is gonna be bad and street spots are basically non-existent.

first, my absolute best advice: check out Prked. this is the app for finding and renting private driveways or garages right next to the venue. it's way cheaper than the commercial garages, you skip the worst of the traffic circling avenue a, and it's just a short walk. this is your best shot at a stress-free experience.

if you're set on street parking, you need a strategy. the huge plus here is that the show is at 7:30 pm. most metered parking in manhattan is enforced until **7:00 pm** monday-saturday. this means if you snag a metered spot around 7:00 or 7:15, you likely won't have to pay anything, but you must check the signs to be 100% sure. if you try to arrive at 6:30 pm to find a spot, you'll be feeding the meter and dealing with rush hour street sweeping/asp. alternate side parking (asp) is usually in effect on mondays, so watch out for those "p" with a broom signs. it’s a tight spot- don't double park or pull too close to a fire hydrant (15 feet minimum) unless you want a ticket. if you're looking for an empty spot, you'll probably have better luck going a few avenues east toward the fdr or farther north/south away from the main houston/bowery cross sections.

for garage parking, you absolutely have to pre-book using an app like parkwhiz or spothero. walking distance is key because $20+ for a couple of hours is normal. look for places a few blocks west, like the garages around lafayette street (0.2-0.3 mi away) or even some of the spots further down ludlow street, but expect the $25-$35 range. the cheapest spots tend to be a little farther from ave a.

allow yourself a ton of extra time. new york city traffic is going to be heavy on a monday at 6:30-7:30 pm, and finding a spot will take an extra 15-20 minutes, even with a garage reservation. hope this helps and you enjoy the show!
