Julgados de Paz information

Hey there all. To keep it short I'm in the process of going through the Julgados de Paz system to get the rest of my security deposit back from the landlord. Unfortunately, meditation has failed, and from what they write I believe we will be going in front of a judge. I don't remember exactly what the email said at the moment.

I was wondering if anyone has gone through this before and what to expect? Also, has anyone ever requested a translator from the courts before? I do not speak Portuguese well enough.

Unfortunately, a lawyer is out of the question. The fees for one would make pursuing the amount not worth it ha ha. Thanks in advance.
