snow tires

bought a crosstrek in the fall and didnt get snow tires for it (south west pa and kicking myself in the ass for it now). for all you folks that have snow tires, do you buy a full new set of rims and have the snow tires just live on those or just have the rims re-tired as the season changes? ive never bought snow tires before but I want to get the most out ot my crosstrek.
