Landlord hasn't shoveled at all yet, any advice?

I am a renter in a multi-unit building near downtown Northampton and my lease specifically says snow removal is the landlord's job. However, he hasn't shoveled at all yet and has not responded to my calls. I pay enough in rent that it really doesn't seem fair that I should do work that my lease specifically says I don't have to do, but I feel bad for my neighbors because the sidewalk is not walkable. Do you guys have any advice? What is the proper etiquette in this situation? I'm a first-time renter so I am not sure what the right thing to do in this situation is. Thanks!
