Long Polyp / fibrous tissue urethra

I have an external polyp/tissue about 8mm from the urethra. The gyno wants to take it off, has anyone had this done? Or had something similar? Anxious about it, wandering if it’s been causing urinary issues for me but don’t want to make it worse.

She thinks it’s redundant tissue or something that’s healed weird from birthing damage or caused by friction.
