Is Bangalore actually isolating once the novelty wears off?
Bangalore is one of the most happening cities in the country, yet it can feel strangely isolating after a few years.
You hear about people making friends, dating, even having affairs at work and then there’s another group that just works, commutes back, and retreats into apartments, PGs, or gated societies without much of a life outside that loop.
Somewhere along the way, I became part of the latter. Meeting new people sounds fun in theory, but when the weekend arrives, comfort usually wins, staying in, a drink, and a binge.
I’ve been here over four years and slipped into this phase quietly.
For those who’ve lived in Bangalore a while did this happen to you too?
Did you lean into it, or did you consciously pull yourself out?
