Solo RPGs geared towards wilderness exploration

solo-game-questions

Hi guys! I've been playing with a couple solo rpgs throughout my winter break from uni. Currently I'm using Vagabond TTRPG and running my own solo campaign, and I'm enjoying myself. However, I feel like my favorite part of playing is exploring in the wilderness(as a new player, I find it hard to build cities and interact with multiple NPCs--I much prefer discovering ruins, a new biome, or a stray monster/adventuring band). Vagabond doesn't have a great system for exploring with these kinds of things, the system's strengths are in dungeon crawls, not exploration.

Is there a system that's more focused on solo exploration like this? It can be a hex exploration system or something else. I'm also open to systems with a more journaling angle, I'm not super picky I guess. If there isn't a system like what I'm describing, does anybody have any more tips to implement more of that kind of exploration in my games?

Thank you all in advance, this sub has been super helpful in starting me in my solo rpg journey!
