Lexapro first week game changer
I have had anxiety the last 9 years of my life. The head pressure and the sensation of numbness in my lips were making me crazy to the point that I went to the ER to have a CT scan and everything was good. My annual check up is always good other than my high blood pressure (I take valsartan). Grocery stores, malls, stadiums have been a nightmare for me for the last years, everytime I have to go I drink some beers or take a xanax. I feel like I was relying to much in alcohol or the xanax. I was poping .25 every other day to be functional and feel good at my 9-5 office job. My life has been a little hard. Marriage issues, father with alzheimer, economic situation not the best and also a legal inmigrant in the US but waiting for Inmigration interviews. My PCP prescribed me lexapro long time ago and never wanted to take it but couple weeks ago I found myself taking xanax every other day and I decided to give lexapro a chance. I was not scared about nausea and headache, I was hesitant because of the heightened anxiety and the fact that I have to be in an office from 9 to 5 so I asked my boss to work from home two weeks and I started the pill a week ago. My psych put me on 5 mg. First 3 days nausea and a little headache here and there. No anxiety so far but I haven't gone out other that a couple trips to the grocery store and guess what, not even a week on ot and I felt completely different, no dizzines no legs shaking, I felt like a normal human been at the grocery store. I am not 100% optimistic because it could be placebo effect but I swear god I left the grocery store in tears. I asked my psych to go up to 7.5 mg and I started today at 7:45 pm. I was a little nervous but I had to split a 5 mg in half (very difficult if you ask me) but I took it and felt very calm the first hour then normal no calm no anxiety either. It's been 3 days with no xanax and of course no alcohol I dont want to drink alcohol at least the first month and when I do I will have a couple of beers only. My wife is pregnant and we will have a boy in march. I alread have 9 years old daughter that is the center of my life. I want to get better, feel better, be active, put my ass back in the gym and work out, I want to feel better at my job (I'm an insurance agent at Liberty Mutual). To anyone who read this I would like to thank you and if you are having a difficult time with this beast called anxiety or depression please give this pill (or whatever SSRI you want to take)a chance. I can not explain how bad I have suffered in silence from this condition. I see a beautifull light at the end of the tunel.
