Throwaway. Sensitive question.

I need to discuss a hygiene issue with someone and I need advice please. This person is important to me and are male.

They shower daily. There is an odor from down below in the front area. It does not have the usual male odor. nowhere else has an odor. this person has a few medical issues and is larger.

the odor may be coming from clothing poorly washed and getting onto the skin due to circumstances beyond their control but I do not know for certain.

how can I talk about this in a dignified and respectful way that is least likely to embarrass them or stress them out needlessly?
