Need help with a paint scheme

I made this design for my imperial knight household. I was thinking of making it have matte off-white with metallic blue. I am not sure how to go about doing that, or if matte white with metallic blue would look good. I am also not sure how to do diamond/checker pattern. I mostly painted SMs as plain flat grey with bronze trim. So patterns and different color texture(?) is all new to me. I would love any help I could get to make sure that this model looks good. I had to buy a chaos knight and imperial knight kit to get the clawed hand and the laser destructor weapon, so this is not a cheap model. Thank you!
