Uchronias. × Inclusion On Racism/Slavery?
If the topics/format aren't right for this subreddit, and/or not allowed. Understood, and will remove if not already.
Hi.
With Uchronias/Fictional stories with real life problems.
I'm equally curious, and confused.
What is your take - or what you think should be - on the matters and it's inclusions?
More specifically, on stories where its inclusions aren't a truly focus and/or affect the main storyline in a consequencial way?
If it were to be included.
- It would bring forefront to an important matter.
- It is historically accurate. But the con is. It's not truly a big enough part in the story, or with the characters.
But if were to be removed/not addressed. Wouldn't that be completely brushing/glossing over problematic events and theme. (Tone deaf?).
And if it were to include "hints of it." Would that be considered... For better lack of words. Half-a$$ing it?
Perhaps I'm overthinking. (More likely I am.).
But I am very curious on the very perspectives of the said topics. (And helpful as well!).
Thank you very much, for reading!
